Braunovidon Ointment contains PVP iodine and is used to treat animals with damaged skin. Produced by B.Braun Melsungen AG, this ointment can be used on superficial wounds, burns, and infected and superinfected dermatosis.
The frequency of application depends in the indication: in the case of severely inflamed or oozing wounds, the ointment can be applied every four to six hours to achieve the best possible microbiocidal effect. Be careful to completely coat the affected skin areas for successful antiseptic-therapeutic application.
A handy effectiveness indicator of Braunovidon is the brown colouring, which indicates the presence of iodine. If the colouring decreases, the ointment must be reapplied. The ointment is available in tubes of different sizes.
