Syringe pumps are devices that accurately control the movement of a fluid from a syringe and are used to deliver a very small amount of medication. A syringe infusion pump has a step motor that pushes the syringe plunger that ejects the fluids through the needle into the patient's body. It also has inbuilt software to program the rate and duration of the fluid and may either be designed to be stationary and set up at the patient’s bedside or can be portable/ wearable. They also have a fluid withdrawal capacity and can also accommodate multiple syringes depending on the application.
